Default exhaust advice

hi
i've been offered a back box of a 1999 STI in stainless steel by scooby sport.
will this fit my 97 turbo wagon, and will it give me any decent performance gains or am i better off buying something else.
I eventually intend to replace the whole system bit by bit, so will this be a good move?
thanks heaps

Yes.

Little or none. It's more for cosmetics and noise. Most of the gains are found in changing the down pipe and centre pipe. (Cos of the removal of the cats)

If you change the rest of the system then it makes sense to change the back box, so if you plan to do the rest later then it's worth getting this now and saving yourselve a few bucks.

Cool

I have just replaced my centre and back box, with the new Hayward and Scott jap style, it now sounds like a scooby should, It has definately made a difference to the performance and the smoothness of the car.
Hope this helps.
