Cool Which Oils

are reommended for gearbox and rear diff for V4 STi Type-r?

Not sure about the diff but I recommend the Redline Heavy Shock Oil for the gearbox. I have also tried the Silkolene GB Oil and I wasn't impressed as it was only a little better than the cheap stuff Subaru put in. The Redline was a huge improvement.

Didn't know if it needed to be different being a type-r

Hiya, we would use 75W90 regular gear oil in the gearbox, but Castrol 373 in the rear diff to protect the plated diff. 373 wouldn't hurt in the gearbox as it just has a few additives that stop the plates and gears in the diff clunking. Thus it would be Ok in the dccd

Running Redline lightweight shockproof box and diff for 2+ yrs and made a huge difference.
