Uk should fit - not sure if you will need the rear diff - may not?
wrx Ra will fit but you will defo need the rear diff.

It's not the fitment by it self ..more how the gear ratios will be since the legacy have diffrent diff vs. the Impreza

If you put RA gear's(not the box) in a Legacy how will the final drive be..

What gear ratios does a a legacy vs. a Impreza ...

you are best swapping the gearbox and diff to save a lot of hassle.

the legacy diffs are 3.9 front, and 3.545 rear, with a 1.1:1 dropper on the gearbox to suit the rear diff. it is exactly the same as the uk impreza box/diff setup.
the ra uses 4.1 or 4.44 diffs, and does not have a dropper gear.

the gear clusters could possibly be changed over, but you have to retain the shaft to the front diff due to the front diff ratio being different between the uk and ra models.

cheers

Talking Mr J: Ian knows his gearboxes!

As Ian says, change the whole trans over (and diff).
I have the RA trans in my STiv3 from Ian's Legacy. It all swops over as he says.
Never seen the gear set before, but it strikes me the Sti 6 speeder is the way to get a bullet proof box at half the price and quarter the hassle of a 'dog box'. You can have the bigger clutch too!

Finding one though is another matter....

Ian, have the hill climb dates finally, will email to you.

Graham.
