Default Failed TEK2 remap - help required

Hi

I've got a MY99 uk turbo 4dr with fully de-catted exhaust. I've fitted a KL - works fine.

I recently got a TEK2 remap, hoping to get to around 250-260bhp :-)
Unfortunately the remap has made my scooby one sick car - recently RR @ 185 bhp at the fly :-(

The MAF was replaced on the same day as the remap and the KL is showing no activity.

My plan is to go back to the mapper and try again - on inspecting the RR graph the mapper suggested:- for some reason the car has developed a large overboost problem and I think it's cutting the timing back on the advance multiplier.

The mapper set the advance multiplier on 16 (maximum). Could there be a sensor problem somewhere?

Any suggesions/ideas would be very much appreciated,
Thanks in advance
Kenny

Where did you get the RR done? Sounds like they weren't very clued up.

I presume you dont have a boost gauge fitted? Would be a wise move with a TEK ECU. Id be surprised if overboost was the problem. The TEK2 still has fuel cut (at a higher boost) so the car would have stalled suddenly on the rollers if it was boosting over the fuel cut. Might have been interesting It wont cut power if there's just a spike, only if the boost is held for a few secs.

Try and find John Banks on here and email him. Sounds like somethings up, like a blocked boost solenoid or something. Wont be the lambda, as that shouldn't affect the peak power as recorded on the RR.

Would reccomend fitting a gauge, and also post where it was Dynoed.

what boost is it running when its like that, it could have knocked itself down so much that you won't get any activity on a knocklink due to the timing being so far retarded, or the boost is only 0.5 bar, its not possible to SET the advance multiplier with the beta software I have, only read it, thats for MY01 onwards only at this time, so unless he is using something very new I don't understand why you were told that, advance multiplier can increase to that but ... it starts at 8 in Flash 99. As for overboost, don't think thats it, the boost cut should operate before it was that bad and ... you would have a Xmas like Knocklink. You could have poor fueling which is causing it to get upset btw.

Guys thanks for the advice.
I've uploaded the RR graph to the url below:-
Click here to see my RR graph

I do have a boost guage in 1st/2nd/3rd it maxes out at around 1.0 bar (and the car feels not too bad but not 250bhp quick if you know what I mean). Its in 4th and 5th where the car is not running properly - see RR graph as proof.

The car is not fuel cutting (I've experienced that b4) and its not happening with this mapping.

I'll look into a blocked boost solenoid.

If you have any suggestions after seeing the graph let me know.
Thanks guys.

Bit tricky to tell from that, but it looks very wrong and not very smooth at all. The drag graph would show there isn't any slip on the rollers I guess.

Bit odd to do it on speed rather than RPM. Would be interesting to plot the boost on there too. When driving, does your boost gauge build up smoothy and peak, then drop a tiny bit? if there's any bouncing on the way up, that might be a clue...

Not sure

Talking

Sounds like you have tampered with the computerised brain of the car and caused some kind of detremental effect? These things best left alone IMHO.

It may also be the flux capacitor

Cheers guys - the car is at the local subaru garage today - see what they can make of it :-)
Then friday I go back to the mapper for part II - the return - lets hope this episode has a happy ending :-)
I'll let you know the outcome,
Kenny
