Question

I have read about people and garages changing restrictors, 1.2mm and 1.3mm sizes etc. Why, what do they do and where are they?

On some rexes part of the boost control is done by small plastic restrictors in the vaccuum hoses. Smaller restrictors = less pressure = more/faster boost.

Question

So, if I find the restrictor and put a smaller one in then I'll get a bit more boost right?

What's the down side?

Restrictors are normally made of brass, what effect they have depends on the MY of car, MY92-96 fitting a smaller restrictor would have a totally opposite effect to MY97-00.

Be careful you don't hit the boost cut.

Thumbs up

I've got a MY00 so it'll be a larger one then, but I guess I'll leave this mod for a while as I've experienced boost cut in a friends car and it was a bit violent...

BTW thanks Bob for the info you sent me the other day, I've also now found the grinding stones in RS cat.
