SS DP or Falkland DP?
#2
Both much of a much-ness.
SS it £10 cheaper unless you are a member of SIDC in which the Falkland is £10 cheaper.
Given you are about 400miles nearer Falkland than SS, I would go there, but AFAIK it makes no difference

just a little correction. falkland DP is no longer similar to the SS one. it is a twin dump one, initially it was made for falkland by magnex, now magnex sell it as well. i think the new twin dump design is much better than the SS design theorectially.
i have the old falkland DP which is very similar to the SS one. i would swap if it was not too much work.

talked to dealer today.
they said best not to get the DP as it invalidates warranty and can cause DET.
read on here that some get overboost, and some may get DET.... but worse for me is losing warranty....

Hey Guys
Can someone explain two things too me - a not very mechanical person - how increasing the exit flow by reducing the restriction on the exhaust causes detting?
I thought detting was caused by weakened fuel mix i.e increasing air in by induction..
How is a twin dump pipe slightly more efficient sam?

for a UK car to start detting due to a full exhaust is almost impossible. the theory is that a full exhuast will make the engine more efficient and thus running leaner. running lean at the top end will cause det. UK cars run extremely rich and thefore this is unlikely. imports however can be different as they are not run on their proper full ( 100Ron ) and they tend to lean out a little at the top end so adding a full exhaust can sometimes cause det to sti v al least.
the twin dump keeps the exhaust gases coming from the wastegate and turbo separate and therefor allowing smoother turbulence free exhaust gases exit. probably make more of a difference if you were running a bigger turbo and a lot of boost, like myself.
