I am getting error code 42 (Idle switch). Where is it on the engine? My subaru dealer say they need the product code off it so they can order it for me. Are they playing dumb?

 

Hi Seize,

The idle switch is inside the throttle position switch.Depending on MY the TPS is mounted on the O/S of the throttle housing if its got the angled I/C or the N/S if its the later oblong I/C
