Depends - I had 3 from BPM and they were all terrible quality - bent cranks, work needed to machine rods etc, not to mention the most atrocious customer service.

Never again.

Why bother with a stroker kit when a 2.5 USDM STi short block is only about £1000?

In some classes of motorsport you need to retain the original block

What components are included for this price - deffo sounds like a very cost effective way of doing it..

You get a fully build up bottom end.

<rubs hands>

I have a cunning plan..

soo..

2.5 bottom end, uprated oil pump, hybrid turbo, FMIC, injectors.

Use my existing STI top end my existing LINK ECU and uprated fuel pump..

hmm wonder how much power I could get out if that lot easily..

..then just need to see if my transmission holds up..

But have they got uprated pistons/conrods yet for these?

I know several people that have the spec as above - i.e. bottom end with the other gubbins - should be good for about 450bhp I suspect - but I'd want more!!

WORD OF CAUTION re US 2.5 "complete" block!!!!!

You get the block, pistons, rods, crank, .....and thats it!

You don't get oil sump, nuts and bolts etc, and other bits and pieces.
On the plus side, you will probably get a set of gaskets for the 2.5 in that price.

So it is worth bearing in mind, that as well as the block, you will also need an impreza engine (pref a blown one) to cannibalise for the bits and pieces. Of course this then does not take into account all the other required uprated bits i.e turbo, intercooler, injectors, fuel pump etc. You could of cause buy all the bits and pieces (bolts n' stuff) new from a dealer, but ££££££s.

For those thinking you shell out your £1000ish and just swap in new engine for old... it ain't quite that simple.
