Question

I have just fitted a full decat to my 00MY turbo and now can only get 19-20 mpg, have lost 4-5 mpg, on my last car the mpg went up (also 00 Turbo), any ideas, or is this to be expected?

could be that you're booting it everywhere now to hear the exhaust roar

maybe the fuelling tho - its worth considering an ecu remap

Check the lambda sensor is re-connected (check engine light can take days or weeks to come on) and working. Gas analyser, Select Monitor, Delta Dash or AFR meter will confirm it is working.

If you are driving at the same level of performance after the decat as before, and the car is working correctly, you should be getting better economy.
It's likely though that you're chucking it about a lot which will obviously reduce the economy, and as John says it's quite likely the lambda's not in a good way - a suprising number of people who get 'angry' with their economy is simply because their lambda sensor is knackered. Personally, I get around 32mpg. That's on a ~400bhp car, but set up properly (working WB lambda ) & not driving like a nutter!

It would seem these o2 sensors are pretty fragile, I had to change one on my old car after swapping the D/P at 14,000 miles, the funny thing is that I had the car MOT'd the day I changed the D/P on this car and it passed emmisions fine. Also I can't get any data from the secs monitor I am buying from someone. Thanks for your advice guys, looks like I'll be buying a new o2 sensor, expensive to run these bl**dy scoobs
nom -400 brake that must be some awesome drive
