hi there chaps.
hope all is well
i fitted a magnex downpipe today....as well as a magnex no res centre section.....so in total i now have a turbo back full magnex system.
sounds really quiet on tick over but the noise when u boot it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up
my question is.....at low revs when cruising....should i now be able to hear the turbo spinning up.....its only when going slow and just giving it a tiny bit of gas......soon after that the noise of the hks induction kit drowns it out.
i didnt hear it when i just had just the back box on so i am assuming its down to the turbo spinning up earlier or maybe just less noise reduction.....do any of u decatters have the same kinda noise?

what would scooby do

You normally hear turbo spin up through the induction side i.e. I have an APS cold air induction kit and I can hear everything that the turbo is doing.. but I will stand corrected if needs be

the suction noise from the induction kit all but covers the noise of the turbo on mine....the noise im talking about happens in first and second gear when there not much air being sucked through cos ure only just touching the gas.
i just thought the revs were too low for the turbo to be spinning up....just over 2.....but ive read that with a full decat the turbo spins up at lower revs.

Sounds about right, mate. You get a nice whizzing noise at very low revs, which dissapears as the exhaust noise takes over. Comes with the dp.
