Question

Hi petrol heads, how hard is it to change the original turbo intake and outlet hoses on a UK 97my???
I have purchased some SAMCO kits and the intercooler kit has 3 pipes and looks simple enough, but
the Airbox to turbo inlet has many take offs from it and does look a tad tricky!!!
Can anyone shed any light on the task in hand...?

Cheers dudes, Jacko.

jacko,

the bits on it are oil breathers, from the breather system.

You cn have a custom kit made up by smaco that excludes all these bits, and buy an oil catch tank. This collects all the oil breathers and theein stops it being sent back into the engine.

Other option is to buy the ready made pipe and just swap thrm over. All the breathers are in the right place.

This is supposed to yield quite a surprising amount of power.

Some say it requires removal of the inlet manifold to avoid destroying the standard plastic duct on the way out. Choice is yours, but it isnt an easy job.

there is also teh issue that the power steering fluid reservoir really does limit the size of the pipe that can get under the left hand branches of the manifold.

you could buy a custom larger diameter pipe and move the reservoir somwhere out of the way, so long as it is above its current level.
