Davy,

Apparently (I have no first experience of the HKS or Blitz filters) the Blitz filters don't filter too well, due to the holes in the metal mesh being too big.

There have been a few stories of Blitz filters taking out the airflow meters in later cars (MY99/00) Heard of problems with the Pipercross induction kits as well. This is probably why Scoobysport only recommend the ITG panel filter.

The HKS kits can cause problems is not fitted correctly/securely.

The one that seems fine is the K&N 57i which is quite cheap (about £100, rather than £200-odd)

I personally run a Unifilter RamPod Induction kit, and after a year of use and 15,000 miles, all is still fine. (Touchwood!) I do make a habit of cleaning the filter regularly (every 7,500 miles), which I guess helps.

Hope this answers your question in a roundabout way!

Cheers
Andy

Been runnning a blitz in my my99 for about 2 years now, I haven't seen any 'visible' traces of dirt yet, and even God himself expressed surprise at how clean it was compared to other blitz's/hks/ etc etc.

I have a 'mint' Blitz filter from an sti5 - you can have it for £90 (i.e half price) and fitting is a doddle.

It looks aa lot nicer than the K&N!
