Some munching has been going on inside that 'box

I'm waiting for my Runabout Nissan to do that soon...it sounds like it has straight-cut gears

It's a MY95 WRX..

Whilst changing gear from 2nd to 3rd giving it a bit of stick it just went *BANG* (after watching Getaway in Stockholm )

£1500 include a new cluch too, but very labour intensive & genuine parts too

Hmmm, provided the box was rebuilt by a dealer and comes with a couple of years guarantee, it might be a reasonable deal. Under any other circumstances, as has been said, it's a "fool and his money" job...

Calm down m8, people have their opinions and some have professional experience.

Did he buy a new box or was it just rebuilt. If so, then there's no gaurantee it will last either. Obviously if it's given a warranty with the Dealer, then it would be a good deal if it ever went bang again.

I was still pretty shocked by the costs.

AFAIK it's had a full rebuild.. Thats all the salvagable parts left others were in bits & bearings everywere (lay shaft, etc etc). Yes it's under warranty but I don't know how long, didn't ask.

Lol, one born every minute!
