not an expert but I think that is wrong. My friend has a My94/95 which has link ECU in it, no problems. And I can certainly get Link for blackbeast (my94 wrx wagon)

Motec is top gear though, but as you say, pricey

I think you can fit a prodrive performance pack to a MY96 model. Ask your local dealer.
Cost is likely to be around 1900 quid. 1K cheaper than a Motec and is a fantastic mod. PLUS it will actually add value to the car when you come to sell it.

Paid a visit to Graham Goode at weekend (and saw the man himself!!!)

I asked about ECU upgrades for my MY96 and was told the older cars can't have mappable ECUs fitted and that I'd have to go for a MOTEC system at about £2000 plus £1000 for remapping.

I was quite surprised. I didn't think this was right but who am I to question the subaru specialist chap at GG?

Is this true or is it Bollox?

Rich
