Don't keep driving it!!!!
Get a new MAF asap and get rid of the PX kit.

I had Piperx kit fitted to my MY99 and Maf sensor packed in after 20000mls.No warranty as dealer showed me bulletin from I.M warning of failure from these kits and would not cover damage.

Although car was serviced regularly i wasn't made aware of this.Seems that dealers would be better sending out these bulletins to customers rather than calendars.(rant over)

Was quoted £316 fitted for new sensor which was on 3 day back order from subaru.(that tells a story i think)

After a bit of phoning about in the back of Autotrader i enventually sourced one for £100
fitted in 15 mins minus the Piperx, reset ECU and everything's been fine since.

I'm sure a Scooby breaker (Central Subaru or Grade A Subaru) would have one for sale.
Alternatively, put your air box back in then go to the dealer.
