knockin noise?

when i turn the wheels onto full left hand lock and reverse there is a knockin noise coming from the car wot is it?? is it serious? any help cheers, clive

It may be a CVJ failure, if the noise is coming from one of the front wheels.

It could also be a centre/rear diff failure.
