Gavin thanks, I should of been more specific!
I am interested in all MY autoboxes, also do they hold the gears untill a set point ie: a sport mode! or is it a case of them changing up mid bend on you?

The latest cars have a "Tiptronic" style auto box - the turbo cars before used the 4E-AT.
The 4E-AT is electronically controlled (has it's own ECU) and also dynamically shifts power between the front and rear - like an intelligent diff. It starts off with 60% rear / 40% front and varies continuously (ala Porsche 959
).
It has a "Power" mode which is like a "Sport" button on most European auto cars (i.e. holds gears to redline). There is also a "Winter" mode (start in 2nd etc).
You can also manually select gears using the gear selector.
