Cat-less downpipe with PPP
Pieman,
I have a MY99 PPP car, with a ScoobySport Backbox, ScoobySport Downpipe, and a Magnex centre. I can only say it was stunning!!
My car was peaking at 18.1 psi and holding 17.5psi when we tested it with a select monitor (Nice cold day) The free flowing exhaust MAY get the car to overboost. I asked Mike Wood, who said it may or may not be safe, it really depends on the car, and whether it's constantly overboosting.
Since then I've also added a HKS EVC4 giving max boost of 1.18Bar/17.1psi. Strangely enough it feels more responsive and aggresive now!!
Come MOT time, I will replace the centre cat, warm up the car, then have it tested!
If I have the spare cash at the time, I will commission Haywood & Scott (makers of the ScoobySport exhausts) to make me a centre section with a high flow cat. Although no need to worry until September 2002!!
Cheers
Andy
