The classic reason, is that the replacement will be stainless steel, so it won't rust and fall off!!

Thereby justifying the purchase of a full stainless steel system!!!

My friends and I have used that excuse quite a few times!!! To the point when a mates girlfriend asked him when he was changing his exhaust when he was in the showroom buying his car!!!

I was thinking of buying one and asking the dealer to fit it before I picked the car up. The little lady would then never know. The reason I'm not doing this is so I can see and feel for myself any difference the BB makes.

How about waiting a while (until she has forgotten) and then having a parking accident, some kerbstones are quite high....

 

Tell her you are deeply considering having an affair with an 18 year old 5"10" blonde from work or the pub and that the only way to satisfy your desire for something new and improved would be to purchase an exhaust which will hopefully do the job !

Get it fitted and tell her that Scoobysport have asked you as a personal favour to evaluate one of there new products costing in excess of £ 600 and that if after 6 months your reports are satisfacory they have told you that you can have it for half price to recompense your efforts.

But in the meantime a bloke called Mr Croney of Scobysport has given you £ 50.00 in advance of your reports to take your beloved
out for dinner as a gesture of goodwill.

Or tell her you had a random emission test today at the roadside you failed it and your local dealer has given you two options.

1. Replace all valves and seals cost in excess of £ 1'200 or

2. Fit an emission friendly Greenpeace exhaust system for just £ 300 which will also solve the problem just as well but for 25 % of the cost !

The decision is yours "me lady"

Pete from Scoobysport has given you a cut-out-and-keep excuse! The exhaust will help improve fuel economy "through its increased gas extraction capability" or something like that.

Worked for me. Although I do hold second gear for longer than I have to, particularly in tunnels, so I somehow doubt I'm seeing any fuel economy benefits...

 

I'd wait till she's gone out or to bed sneak out, remove the old back box and then convince her the old one got stolen!!

 

Just do like me, take her in the bed room, Flog her cookies until she thinks she's seen God. Then "Tell" her what you are going to do. Remember, your not asking her, your Telling her. If you do it right she'll only be thinking about sleeping, she'll fall asleep, you'll get your back box and that quite you've been wanting.
