test drove a S/Tb Forester today. After warming it up I took it for a quick drive down the road and on slowing down for the return trip saw smoke coming from the bonnet scoop. Checked it out and mild reving produced light but distinct oil smoke ( possibly from the rear of the turbo). Are any of the hoses prone to leaking or is it more likely to be bearings or seals. I would appreciate any thoughts or comments.

It might not be from the turbo. It could be from one of the rocker cover gaskets (drivers side) leaking onto the exhaust causing the smoke. This happened on my Impreza.

I don't know if this helps but it's worth checking out.
Plus it's cheaper to repair.
