Some people say recirc, some say atmos. Which is better? Does the vent to atmos bugger up the fuelling? Is there any performance gain or is it all about noise?

Somebody help me!!

no performance gain, but they may help you to realise the performance you should have anyway if your existing one is leaking.

They are thre purely to vent the unused airpressure which stalls the turbo.

Vent to atmos can caus eyou to run rich as the maf will fuel for air which is supposedly flowing through a closed system yet when you vent to atmos you allow it to escape without removing the fuel that corresponded to that mass of air.

I am not convinced by this as I would have thought that when you recirculate you just dump it out the airfilter anyway and I don't see how the maf sensor can be directional, so surely if anything it will fuel again!

anyway, it is purely about the noise, which in my opinion is far nicer with no dumpvalve at all. You get more a a wrc chirp, but risk damage to your compressor blades.

Apparently thr shock is like hitting them with a hammer!

As Adam says there are no performace gains to be had but it does effect the fueling somewhat.... mine never used to pop and bang with the recirc on but when I changed it, it popped and banged loads!!! (running Rich is alll good, much better/safer than running lean!)

People recommend having a recirc at big power, or as adam suggests.... just don't have one, sounds gooooood

Question

I thought the whole point of having a DV was to reduce lag?
Is this correct?
