Dodgy gearbox? advice sought.....
#1
Hi,
I came home a different way tonight, and was doing a lot of third gear overtaking. Several times I noticed a slight crunch when changing up into fourth, dropping the clutch at ~5k upwards. Lower down the rev range seemed OK and other gears were also fine. I thought I was just getting sloppy for a while, but this is definitely reproducable.
Have I got a synchromesh problem? and is likely to be relative simple (er, cheap) to fix? It's a MY00 EU import, still under warranty.
Thanks,
Jamie

Oh no, so this is obviously a common problem! Don't tell me I have to put up with a 2 second gap when shifting up from 3rd to 4th - that's the best bit!!!!!!
Funny that it just started today, although I haven't driven hard for a while. I might take it to the dealer anyway just to see what their line is.
Cheers,
J
