does anyone do any home based tuning on these beasties like we oldies used to be able to(wastegate tweeks, bleed valves, long wastegate pipes to allow slight overboost etc) or does everyone just throw money at dealers these days.

Two years ago I fitted a bleed valve to my UK94....Cost £30 quid. Thought it was the best thing since sliced bread......until I blew a piston

True cost of bleed valve fitment nearer £2000.

In my mind fitting a bleed valve is a false economy.. But if you do take that path, just be careful.

had in mind slightly more complex set up whereby ecu senses actual boost. does the ecu cut boost/retard ignition at a higher level of boost than the car would run as standard eg. on my maestro 9psi standard but the ecu/fuel coped up to 14 so this is what it ran at(went well 190bhp crap in rain).also really reliable valves help(bosch festo etc)
