Electronic boost controller or manual
#1
I am looking to increase boost on my MY99.
Besides new/reprogrammed ECU's I found two types of boost controllers:
- Electronic boost controllers: new boost computers
- Manual boost controllers: Just fooling the sensor/ECU, but a lot cheaper
I feel towards the electronic ones, but hesitate because of overfueling: Does fooling the ECU also mean that ignition and Fuel mixture are not adjusted to the higher pressure? Which will mean more agressive ignition and less fuel, so more power and more risk.
Can anyone elaborate on the power and risk differences?
