I have a H&S DP, H&S Resonated Centre and a TSL Grp 'N' Backbox and am now finding the noise levels to be a touch on the loud side.

The TSL BB was fine with just the centre decatted, but since doing the DP the noise levels have started to be a pain for me and the neighbours.

I have aquired a PPP backbox and am hoping this will clm things down a bit.

Can anyone confirm if this will be quieter then my current configuration or similar i.e complete H&S.

I assume the Backbox power capabilities will be the same as they all see to be 2 1/2 inch pipe.

Yup I have an open neck downpipe, straight through centre, and a PPP backbox.

I find the noise levels are very good when pottering aroung, but when I want to it has that PPP Jet Fighter Noise.

Downpipe and centre lagged.... yes...got rid of the horrible tinnie noise at 1,500rpm. Which was very noticable when the pipes were cold.

I have a PPP jet fighter sounding backbox before, then switched to the TSL which was louder and gave a much better crackle at high revs.

However, since decatting this IMHO has become too much.

PPP pipe went on this evening, so tommorrow will tell......

Interesting to see that the internal pipe on the TSL silencer is 2 1/2 inch whereas the external visible part is getting on for 3 3/4.

However the TSL is dead straight through the silence from entrance to exit, whereas the PPP has a slight internal kink due to the entrance being offset to the exit. Still looks to be 2 1/2 inch tho'.

It's still too bloody loud IMHO I ended up with Magnex resonated centre and backbox - my old PPP one is off deafening people in another village now

Thumbs up

Scott

My wagons got a Scooby Sport de-cat centre and Glens old PPP back box. It's quiteish around town, but over 3K it does make a nice noise.

To be honest I never thought it sounded that loud until a few weeks ago.... While at Gatwick Subaru having some brakes sorted, I heard a scoob accelerate outside and turned to see what the car was. It was mine! I was upstairs having a drink and could hear the exhaust quite clearly through the plate glass windows!!! Nice.

Same here, I never thought mine was that loud, but I let a friend drive it so that I could hear it and I was impressed!

Well the PPP backbox has replaced the TSL grp 'N' and to be honest....yes it has made it quieter.... but maybe a bit too much. Sounds almost standard now....

It is running a H&S Resonated centre which wasn't cheap and to be honest didn't make much difference to my Magnex un-resonated.

I'll have to give it a ragging with the back windows down tommorrow, but I think it has certainly lost the nice group 'N' crackle that I wanted to keep. I just wanted it a few dB's.

I may drop TSL a line to see what they suggest. Maybe it need re-packing ????

It took me bloody ages to get an exhaust note that I liked, then I went an de-catted and upset the balance....

You would be supprised from outside when under some load!

Yeh! you may be right, but to be honest the look and fit of the TSL Grp 'N' is so much better.

It's that little bit bigger i.e 3.5inch rolled out instead of 3.5inch rolled in. And doesn't have the baffled insert of the PPP.

It also sits alot closer to the bumper (a bit tight when getting a rag to polish the top of the tailpipe). After having the TSL on there for so long the PPP seems to hang too low (Tailpipe probably sits another 15-20mm from the bottom of the bumper).
