The syncros were worn in my legacy after 110k miles so on advice I filled the box with mobil 1 synthetic gear oil and now it feels like new . Scoobysport use silkolene synthetic gear oil .

I would also appreciate advice on this one. I have recently changed the gearbox oil in my 94MY turbo. I used Castrol SAF-XJ fully synthetic on the instruction of a nearby Scooby specialist (who also sold me the oil 11 GBP per litre !). So far, I am less than impressed by the results - the synchros can't cope anymore. I will be changing to motor factor semi synthetic soon if things don't improve. I'm led to believe that this oil takes some time to 'acclimatise', so watch this space...
