more on clutches

Just read the posts below. There seems to be a lot of clutches going at about 40k.

My 98 terzo has done 35k and is starting to get clutch judder, need more revs for smooth change, engaging higher up etc Its not slipping yet, but its on the way.
Dealer says not to worry!!
do they replace them on warranty, cos i've got the feeling they will be ****ty about it.

Also i've heard the new impreza has a different, 'heavier' clutch. is this because they know all the old ones wore out at 40k??

Clutches aren't actually included in the IM warranty, and I would think 40k would be considered fair wear and tear.
