Question

I'm looking for a gearbox upgrade for my car (UK 98) and really want to go for a stronger gear set.

I know about the Quaife, BPM and MRT gear kits for the scoob, but are there any other suppliers / manufacturers that people could recomend to me?

Cheers

Tim / Slooby

Tim,

I have been trying to find a cost effective solution to the synchro problem on my STI 5 and have been recommended, by TSL Motorsport Prodrive internals which have been cryogenically (I think !) treated. You can get their number from their banner ad.

Whatever you end up doing, will you post updates on here as I would be very interested in your results.

Chris.

Chris, I new I'd forget one...the set your talking about is the previous generation Group N syncro gear set, at about 1800 quid plus vat

This season Group N will be allowed to run straight cut gears...much stronger, but not that friendly on a road car

My car is going in to be looked at in the morning...where I go from there who knows...

Cheers, Nige, but I already new about the BPM kit I did hear somewhere that this was the same kit as Prodrive offer in the Syncro varient at least...

Anyway the latest is that the car has been checked over by a dealer, and yep, fourth gear syncro is a dead'n They're ordering up a replacement syncro set today and then will be fixing the car under it's warranty...uprating will have to wait...unless Mike Wood is feeling generous hint hint
