Hi All

This is cross-posted on 22b.

I've a my00 PPP which I'm happy with...... but I'd like a *bit* more

I'm considering a catless downpipe and a high-flow (grpN) mid-cat (in Switzerland the fines are *very* large...).

I'm more interested in increased mid-range response and torque than high revs increases.

I was looking at the Scoobysport and Falkland items - I *think* they're similar in design with their mating to the turbo (ie; enlarged opening for wastegate flow) but it seems one difference is that the Scoobysport is 3" until the joint with the mid-section, where it comes down to 2.5". The Falkland item is 2.5" all the way down.

Technically, which is better for torque increases in the mid-range - I guess the 2.5" design?

I also want to lag (or HPC coat) the pipe and refit the standard heatshields (stealth reasons...mostly ) - has anyone experience of doing any of this? I'm particularly interested to know what I may need to do to be able to refit the OE heatshield.

Thanks
Richard

Been through the same problem. Spoke to a guy at Prodrive who said they have experience of the SS downpipe on rally cars (and road cars) and although he could not be seen to recommend anything, said if it was his car, its the one he would fit - good for torque gains. As you are not in the UK ring them as they will be more forthcoming to you, as they are obliged to be somewhat "restricted" to enquiries from here.

Richard

I could make a dp with a dummy casing around it, so it looked like a cat, if this would help.

Stan

It graces quite a few rally cars around the world.

So we won't have problems in getting away from him as he is used to chasing slow UK Scoobies

Ah bring your restricted and hence underpowered eurotrash cars over here and we'll put you up against a few UK scoobies and you can watch us pull away, but please no big girly red mudflaps

Hello everybody,

I am living in Switzerland too.

Richard, I am not sure, but doesn't the SS item start at 3" and then comes slowly down to 2.5"?
For the high flow sports catalyst, we are 4 persons that are looking for one for a good price. Mio knows a guy that worked for Sportec a long time and know fits the sports catalysts for Digit Power (100cells). He asked him and I think he would make a very good price for 4 cars with the same mod.

Pete, this is a VERY good idea, how much would that cost over the standard SS downpipe to make a dummy casing around the dp?

Sunil, no problem! ....there aren't may swiss guys on this bbs, and if they are, they would like the idea of having a dummy casing!

greetings
ric

PS ...hey Richard, good topics you're starting!

Sunil...if you don't sort the suspension you will be left behind m8. Looking at me lovely mudflaps. This will never happn tho, since I don't speed on public roads (often) - only on track...where you'll never be.

Hi Ric - can you ask him for a price?

Sunil - whad'ya mean restricted? And while your car may well pull away.....from what I hear it would depend who was driving it

Pete - the dummy casing would be great...I guess you've got a few OE dp's lying around?! Mike's emailed you regarding price - please let us know.

Cheers All

....as soon as I have a price I'll let you know, we are 4persons for the sportscata.

....I think there are also 4persons for the dp? (Steve?)

Maybe we could find somebody on the board that often drives to Switzerland and could bring them along.....

ric

PS Richard&scoobymike check email.

Hi all

Ric, just checked my mail. So Pete will surely give us a special quote won't he if we order 4 custom items.

Wonder what Mio can do about the rest. If his quote is decent enough, we'll see.

Didn't know that Mr. 18" wheel hasn't sorted out his suspension. But stucking in London traffic jam doesn't require that, does it!

Cheers

I shall be driving to Switzerland in the first week of March.....I don't mind bringing some goodies if the logistics are ok......and my wife works five minutes (or two the way she drives her Scoob) away from Scoobysport and could pick them up.....

Sunlip doesn't need suspension cos his Croydon Crapheap spends most of its time parked outside the local school with him looking through his binoculars.....
