Hiyas all

Can anyone suggest a remedy to a problem i'm having with an MY 98 model?

After about 12000 miles i discovered a problem under full throttle that was quite off putting...... in any gear, from about 3000 rpm, then 3500 rpm, and so on the car would suddenly feel as if it had hit a brick wall. It happened shortly after a service (its second) and my dealer is a local German Garage.

I've heard about the problem possibly being related to oil vapours seeping into the waste gate solenoid. The dealer fixed it under waranty; but he never replaced the solenoid.....

It's been fine for the past 2000 miles but has since developed hestitation in 4th/5th at about 5500 - 6000 rpm.

The dealer reckoned there was something wrong with a vaccum but my German isn't that hot so i might be talking boll*ocks.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers All!

Chiark

Thanks

That sounds like my problem. Now I need to convince my dealer to fit a MY99 solenoid. I suspect he won't tho.....

Can anyone give me a clue on how to do it myself or if I can do it myself? (without blowing the car up... )

Thanks for the site. v glad of the much sound advice before I registered.
