Clearing Stored Faults

Anyone know how to clear stored faults on the ECU without disconnecting the battery? The original fault code 23 the MAF sensor has been repaired and the check engine light is off during normal operation. I have tried reseting with the black and green wires, but the error code remains when I put the 2 black wires together.
