Hi Ian,
I've looked up the HKS Racing suction kit at Taka Kaira -looks impressive. But what's that big box for? If you have more detailed info you can send it to me: p.biggelaar@chello.nl.
Thanx, Peter

Hi all,
Does any of you have experience with a cold air intake for the open air filter? This is where the air filter is placed in the inner wheel guard. I know of the solution of APS but are there alternatives? Where to buy? Prices? Which filters fit? I'm stuck here in Holland where there are no proper tuners like in Australia or the UK.
And another question: how great is the danger that the oil used in most open filters can get onto the hotwire cuasing damage? Is Blitz the only alternative?
Thanx.
Peter
p.s. I drive an MY99.

Hi Ric,
Yes, coincedentally This solution popped up yesterday with a tuner here in Holland. It seems that the original filterhouse could act as a heatbarrier and all you need to do is guide air to the filter and replace the panelfilter with one from for example K&N.
From your experience it seems to work, so maybe I'll do just that. Thanks.

Hi all,
Thanks for the additional suggestions. Those scoops look very impressive. Stuart, can you quote a price for me? Painted?
Ric, does your car still make a nice air sucking sound? I've got the resonator removed and it sounds quite nice. Not that I'm too much impressed by sounds, I'm more into effectiveness. But it would be nice if it still sounds great.
Eric, you're absolutely right. If I do some modifications, I do it properly.
For eaxample today I replaced the reg. plate from the air intake to the front of the bumper. But I made it in such a way that I can change it back and you won't see any holes drilled in the bumper! Also I'm making a wire mesh to fit in the air intake in the bumper. Today I tested a prototype at speed. Looks a bit like that new Rover 75 MG sports version.
It all adds to the fun of driving a Scooby!
