Hi, sounds like your wastegate solenoid is screwed. 0.5 bar of boost is what you get if you depend on your wastegate actuator alone. The solenoid brings it up to 0.8 bar. Run a diagnostic and see if you get error code 44.

Best rgds and happy new year!

Mr Nutter,

Which 'local dealer' are you referring to?

Good to see someone else from the Fylde on here, either no-one around Preston has access to the internet or (judging by how few scoobs around here acknowledge my waves) non of them are aware of what they are driving!

I keep meaning to suggest a scoob get together around here but apathy keeps getting the better of me.

You can do this yourself

Go below your dash, look for and connect the two dangling black connectors, turn your key to IGN (no need to crank) and count the engine check light flashes. Count the long duration ones, then the short duration ones, e.g. 2 long ones followed by 4 short ones means you have an error code 24. If it's a continuous flash , everything's ok. Disconnect the black connectors when you're done.

Best rgds!

Exclamation

Duncan,

As Gibsons are no longer a Subaru dealership I think they should be a little less choosy about what Scoobs they service.

If you didn't already know the main engine related error codes can be found here:

Mr Nutter

The reason they refuse to diagnose your motor is that it's a WRX. Most UK dealers dont like imports.
