Question

Bit of an odd one.
This is only intermittent - i have had the car a year and it has only happened 7-8 times.
UK MY99 Turbo

It feel like the turbo is not 'boosting', no kick up the ar$e accelleration coming out of the bend, it cuts in again on the straight a couple of seconds later.

Anyone else had a similar experience or know why or how to fix?

Took it into the dealers and it would not do it - bloody typical!

Anyone?

Might it be fuel related? If you're running low, I believe that the pump can be exposed and hence not get anything into the fuel line.

Alternatively, could it be crap being disloged from your fuel filter? There's been tales of knackered fuel filters following the petrol crisis where all sorts of sludge was pumped from the bottom of garages' petrol tanks.

Hopefully that gives some starting points.

Question

Paul,
What was the status of the engine prior to going inti the R/H bend, were you thrashing it.

I get the same thing on MY00 only now and again and only when revs are beyond 6k before changing gear (sometimes it can take 5 secs. to recover boost). I suspect its the dump valve not responding so well therefore stalling the turbo. As I've driven a MY99 with a changed dump valve and it had no hint of it.

Still getting it and still none the wiser, so if anybody has the answer and its cheap I'll have a go.

Alan
