I can't seem to see the search function anymore? Or have I had too many ales!

I know there has been a great discussion on oils in the past here....

I was planning to put in something like:-
Mobil 1 xyz... or Sylcolene xyz

Also on the gearbox I was planning a fancy Sylcolene here too?

Any ideas / recommendations and suppliers.

Is it an ok job to do DIY? (engine and gearbox) ?

This will be the first synth oil shes had (8.5k now)

The search has been withdrawn at the moment - it was slowing the server down too much. There should be a CD available soon which will contain all the old technical info.

As regards oil - speak to your dealer and they will have the special Mobil1 mix recommended for UK cars, or have a chat with Scooby Sport / Scoobymania etc - they will be able to supply similar oils (Silkolene Pro etc). Swa if your car is a UK model and it is out of warranty, you can use something like Mobil1 Motorsport.

Chris is right. Mobil 1 motorsport 15w 50 recommended by most tuners. £32 odd at halfords for 4 litres.
