...Is the P1 downpipe more free-flowing than the downpipe on the WRX/STI?

I own a MY95 WRX and was wondering if the P1 D/P would fit. I have an idea the lamda sensor may be located in a different positon, is this true and if so, would this cause problems?

Its the same part number as fitted to the UK turbo

You would need to block the hole for the lambda sensor, an 18x1.5 bolt will do the job.

The lambda sensor on a pre 96 car is in the manifold. On a 97 or later car, it is in the downpipe.

The P1 D/P may be different in its coating, but the P1 parts list, issued to dealers, gives the same part number as for the UK and STi cars.

I suspect that the part fitted to the P1 at the factory could have a better coating, but for later replacement, the standard one will pass an MOT. New vehicle gas tests are much stricter than an MOT.

It might have the same numbers on it but the catalyst has a higher precious metal content and is therefore more efficient at removing the nasties from the exhaust gases without reducing power output.
All you will get by fitting it is reduced emissions, not increased power!

Would I be right in assuming that the Lamda sensor on the 95WRX isn't located in the downpipe?

And is the P1 d/p different from the STI?
