I spoke to someone in the know today who swears by this stuff.
I was skeptical. Has anyone tried this, or got any opinions?
Too thin?

How many times are we going to go over oil preferences? And have the same arguments over and over and over and over as to which oil is best? Maybe it's time we had a section specifically for oil... Feature Requests.

That specialist was Triton right ?
My car is running on Elf at the moment after Sparsh1ts filled it up with Magnatec at the 50,000 service.
Haven't noticed any problems with the stuff and my car does get hammered daily, maybe not as good as Mobil/Motul, but better than the semi-synths out there I spose.
If you're worried get some Mobil 1 Motorsport 15-50 from Halfords and get Triton to use that instead.

I used to use it in my Renault 5GTT. Never had a problem with it but found it hard to get hold of and expensive. I then started using Motul and have used it in every car since.

Why do some people attack threads just because they touch on a subject that has been brought up before?
If your not interested in a thread, don't post on it, simple.
If you were in the pub and you over heard a converstaion that had already been talked about, would you go over and tell them they shouldn't be talking about that?
Upset me and I'll start the following threads:
Which Oil?
Best Exhaust?
Scooby VS M3
Scoob VS EVO
I just spanked a Mclaren F1!!!!!!!
You have been warned

GUYS DON'T put 5W anything in a Subaru Turbo engine unless you want it go BANG !!
The minimum safe oil is 10W and preferably 15W. REGARDLESS of who says what. We see far too many blown up engines that have been on 5W or 0W.

I'm putting my 01 WRX in for a service next week, and the guy at the Subaru dealers said he was going to fill my car with magnatec ..
I thought we should run these cars on fully synthetic
correct me if I'm wrong

Hi MadGrip,
as far i know fully synthetic it should be
I've been trying to get hold of Motul 15w/50 but have had no luck around here, whent to a big bike place and the guy says "All fully synthetic oils are exactly the same, they are just sold under a different name" he recomended i use 10/40 rockoil or shell, i wanted 15w/50 cars approaching 55k miles and i want a thicker oil, then another guy (mechanic) says "Ther's no such thing as a 15w/50" some mechanics can be so 'DUH'
