Correct Oil Pressures?
I have just fitted my oil pressure gauge, and just want to check the pressures with those of you that have also got a gauge fitted.
When the oil is warm, at idle I get about 33-35psi. At all other times, even low revs, I get 80-95psi. Does this sound right?
I ask because I have also purchased a sender that will activate a warning light when the pressure drops below 30psi, and going by the fact that it's normally over 80 when driving I was worried it may be a bit low.
I don't mind it coming on when idling, but I'm concerned it may be too low when on track.

1 bar is 14.5 psi roughly.
30 psi is OK stef as the bearings will be safe at that level.
If i were you, the first time on track with your new setup, have someone sit with you and just spend all lap watching the gauge (probably a good thing compaired to looking outside
). When i first bought my westfield i used to drive with one eye on the gauge and one on the road until i was happy surge wasnt happening at a new track to the car. I had surge at cadwell so backed off my corner speed on the one corner that was causing it at full pace. I have a baffled sump now so dont have that problem.
If they are seeing the oil presure dropping in hard G corners or braking then you may have a surge issue, sometimes even the high presure lights wont pick up momentary surge, but as a precaution it is much better than the alternatives.

I've got the three gauge pod (oil pressure, oil temp and boost) from the Subaru NL site - the pod matches my MY00 dash perfectly (colour, texture, etc.).
I had it fitted by my (Dutch) supplying dealer, but he would be glad to sell you one direct - or Auto Tecnica in Huddersfield now have a couple in stock, which they ordered from Frits after they saw my installation.
I reckon they're the D's B's, especially for the cost!

I have the Subaru pod that replaces the top drawer of the central console. It is cut away from the vents, which are then replaced.
I am picking up my last gauge tomorrow, and will post a picci asap for you all.
