Hi guys ('n' gals)!
A friend of mine has a MY98 GT (same as your 2000 turbo) and he needs your help.
Correct me if I'm wrong....but the little round thingy mounted behind the airbox with hoses going to the wastegate....isn't that the Wastegate solenoid?
If so...his has started to tick quite loudly (only when applying some of the old loud pedal), my MY00 doesn't do this.
The dealer said that it's nothing to worry about, but I've driven his car, and it's somewhat irritating and the first time I heard it - quite scary.
It can only be heard around 1000-1400 rpm.
Is it a common problem on earlier cars (I've noticed that his doesn't look the same as mine)?
