I'm looking for info on a problem with my
2000 Impreza 2.5 RS. Two problems...
one: At stoplight the engine is very rough when first accelerating. I usually have to goose the throttle before releasing the clutch or risk an engine vibration/stall.
two: While accelerating, I often get small backfires as I release the throttle pressure during upshifts. ie press on gas, start to shift, by clutching and lifting off the gas pedal, the engine will give a small pop just as the gas pedal is allowed rise.
I have found ONE tech bulletin on older Impreza's with the hesitating problem. but my dealer says the computer is reporting no problems. The changed the air filter and sent me on my way...with no real improvements.
