Hi ALL,

I know this is an old topic, but would appreciate a little feedback.

What type of tyres do most people have on their scoobys these days...
It has been a while since I have graced the pages of the bbs..... so would welcome comments

My Yoko's A520's are slowly comming to an end and will need replacing..... so suggestions and recommendations please!

Regards,
Graeme

No question about best - Bridgestones SO-2, but they will cost £500 per set (17") cheaper option, though not as good are Toyos which should be £100-£150 cheaper.

Graeme,

I use Toyos and I think that they are very good but if you would prefer Yokohamas apparently they have recently brought out the A520 replacement called the A539.

Thanks

Gavin

If you don't want to slide around in the wet then slot some S0-2 PP's on.
What a difference.

Bridgestone S-02s every time. Currently on my fourth set. Total confidence in them.

I'm temporarily running on an inexpensive set of Pirelli P8000 Vizzolas. They're high-performance all-season tires that have performed well in the dry, wet and gravel unpaved roads here in the backwoods of Pennsylvania (US). Much better than the stock Bridgestone RE92s that come on the Imprezas here in the States.

Come Summer, I'll be picking up a new set of wheels and the Bridgestone SO-2, which everyone seems to be on agreement on. I would have bought them this year, but the wife wouldn't allocate the budget.

If the SO-2 runs around £500, the Vizzola should run around £225. They're great all around street tires, but I wouldn't use them for racing.

I'm using S-02 PPs (16") and very happy with them. 430-odd including fittig and VAT.

Hi GraemeF,

just a quicky, try posting in the tyres section when asking about tyres LOL

you can also use the search option if you look top right, you will find lots of detail you are searching for if in a hurry for an answer.

cheers
john

PS SO2's kick ***, A520's suck in the wet.

Bought two 16" Toyo Proxies recently, £75 each plus VAT including balancing and fitting, from Hy-Speed Tyres in Rochdale. Well chuffed with handling and grip, great tread pattern to.
