Overview of exhaust systems
#1
Hi there,
Scoobysport, HKS, Magnex, Blitz, Supersprint, Remus, Sebring.... They all supply exhaust systems for the Subaru GTT. And each one of them promise better performance and/or sound. At this point I don't which one to choose. (Currently I'm running a Remus back-box, wich I want to replace). So I'm in need of an overview of all the available exhaust systems for the Subaru GTT (european specs).
Is there such an overview an who can provide for it? If not, I am willing to make such an overview with the help of your replies.
What I think is interesting is:
make
model (downpipe, midsection, back-box),
with or without kat,
other specs (performance, sound)
price indication
supplier.
Looking forward to your replies.
Bye,
Cor (from the netherlands)

Hi Cor,
I've just fitted a magnex de cat mid-section with silencer and a scoobysport back box, and am particularly pleased with the outcome.
The car feels more confident and driveable between 2k and 4k revs. And it has a lovely throaty rumble (sounds best when best when you lift of the gas. It's actually slowed me as I'm always taking my foot off the throttle to listen to the noise.) At the same time, it's not too loud. Louder than the average car, but not loud enough to give the police a five mile warning of your approach.
Happy rumbling.

You will also find that the ECU state of tune affects the sound. My car was very barky with PPP ECU and PP exhaust. Changed std downpipe to SS Downpipe and bark got quieter (but much faster). Changed back box and rumble came back a bit. Changed centre section to Magnex and it got a bit louder. Then changed ECU to Link ECU and its even quieter now than pre anything!
but goes much better too!.
