Question

In the French magazine Auto Hebdo, there is always advertising from Autosport Distribution located in Geneve.
They offer a new chip for the Subaru ECU claiming +45 HK and 26% more Nm.

Price 4.300 FF or around 400 UK pound

Do anyone know what this chip do ( Bar ? )
If it make +45 HK what will I lose
400 Pound and 45 HK seams to be cheap.

Lars,
IMHO I would avoid any chip upgrades that are not mapped for your specific car. Every car is different and nobody can create an "ideal" map for a type of vehicle. The only two upgrades I would consider are Possum link ecu and Unichip. They are "tuned" to your car and driving style and take alot of time and work to get right. They are also installed by proffesional people who know what they are doing.(these people are rare). Good luck whatever you choose to do.

Sunil, they might as well, seen as the asking price is £2k. Thats enough to put most people off.

The Pectel unit that would come into this kind of price bracket is the T6 Motorsport, a rather good unit which should be able to control the EJ20 engine, or at least that's the conclusions we came to while I was speaking with a techie @ Pectel... of course you get the "usual" goodies like antilag thrown in and datalogging taken to the extreme.... you can choose (IIRC) 40 channels from over 400 sampling at 1000 samples per second... oh yeah! they will even sell you a CompactFlash datalogging recorder with up to 192MB capacity... should be enough, then :-)

Of course, if you want to take it to the next level, you could go for the T10 ECU... a beast of a machine, but it has power Colin McRae to victory in the Ford Focus WRC on more than one occasion! :-)

Cheers,

Pat.

Lars,
forget these chips!
They will not add a lot of power/torque!
If you really want a good thing, you have to pay for the complete remapping of your ECU.
This is about CHF 2500.-.
If you want, email me for more information!
