I've recently fitted the above. I find that the sound is louder after a 30 minute motorway run at 3500 to 4000rpm. A more frantic b-road blast of the same duration doesn't cause it.
Living in Switzerland (very conservative), the post motoway sound is a bit too loud! Anyone noticed anything similar (Pete, any comments?).
I should add that it is a great sound though - but my neighbours.......and the wife.....blah, blah, blah!
Can anyone tell me how the Prodrive or STi backboxes sound (are they both single pipes - hate the twin pipe?!).
Also want to get a K&N induction kit - how loud is this.....?!
Thanks
Richard

The STi back box is much, much quieter than Scoobysport one but louder than std twin pipe.
Suspect you could pick up a 2nd hand STi one on here pretty easily. Have you searched the "for sale" threads?

Yep, I found this as well.
Rang Pete shortly after I got mine and he explained that you get moisture build up inside the box when cold which will deaden the noise. After a while, the heat in the exhaust will evaporate it and the box will return to it's usual noise level.
In short, don't worry about it - "they all do that, sir".

Hi,
I have K&N 57i kit with SS backbox and my girl hate me too. With kit you can hear every turbo blow out(like truck breaks)and car is much noiser. If you want more race feeling buy it but when you want to stay living at same town forget it!
Suggestion: Try to say your wife that sond is not from your car but from Harley!

I really don't see the problem with the wife here!
Three weeks ago I had the SS downpipe + midsection added to the ScoobySport BB that was already on the car. Picked it up, drove for ten minutes and swapped places with the wife. When she took off there was a very big grin (you know from ear to ear) on hear face when she heard the car howling off.
Up to now no bad comments at all. Not from the neighbours, not from collegues, nobody.
Nico
ps. I found that the BB became more quite after driving it for a while. (or am I going deaf)
