Wink

I've asked this question in the General forum before, and met with little response.
So here goes again...

Have any of you Techy boys heard of Impreza Turbo engines being transplanted into other cars?

(Apart from that ugly Delfino thing).

I'm considering a Skoda Rapid 1300cc Hillclimb car, and thought a Scooby Heart Transplant might be possible in a couple of years. The Skodas have had various power-plants grafted in. RX7 Rotary, Fiat Twin-cam, etc - All of them alloy motors. The Scooby flat four Turbo is my fave engine (after a V8, and flat-six!). It may fit and would provide a stunning car!!

One of the original reasons for buying my Scoob in favour of an Audi TT, etc, was the charismatic power-plant.

Regards,
Squizz.

Squizz,

You can call the Delfino Feroce ugly in the same breath as mentioning the Skoda Rapid 1300?.

yes, there was another two seater in Car magazine about 8 months using the 2.5RS motor - sorry can't remember what it was called.

Rgds,

Alex

Thumbs up

Well...Come on, the Skoda's a mite older than the Delfino.

Considering it was designed quite recently, I think they could have made a better job of it...But it shifts though! (And I wouldn't say no if they offered me one!!!).

The engine has been put in a Rover 75 along with a rear diff change.

I have also put one in a 550 RS replica, 650kg all up, and a Porsche 356. Was also toying with the idea of sticking one in a 911 a while ago before I woke up and got a WRX Type RA.
