Question

Something odd happened with the car a few days ago, and I wondering if anyone could shed any light on it!

I was driving down from the Lake District on Monday, and hit traffic about 2-3 hours into the journey. I needed petrol and wasn't sure if it would last until the next services. I came off and headed to the first petrol station. They only had 95 RON unleaded, rather than Super Unleaded I always use.

The car was a bit rougher on idle and in the lower rev ranges, but the turbo was spooling up at 2,500 rpm rather than 3,000rpm. The whole response of the car seemed to have shifted down by 500rpm, and the boost gauge seemed to show the same thing!!!

It felt a bit down on power before the turbo kicked in, but it was more fun spinning up the turbo quicker!!!

The car was nicely warmed up, and the day wasn't too cold. The car in a UK MY97, with a ScoobySport backbox, downpipe and a K&N air inductor.

Any ideas why this happened???

Regards
Andy
