hi all
since i am a bit slow would someone care to explain to me how a boost controller would benefit my car without using a fuel cut defender .

It is only going to benefit your car if you do not increase the boost past the point that you get fuel cut. There is some margin for increasing boost before fuel cut is reached. On my Evo, stock boost is 0.8 bar and I have increased it to 1.1 bar without getting fuel cut. Someone else here can tell you at approx. what boost pressure you can expect fuel cut on a Scooby, but it will vary between individual cars and will depend on other factors suc has ambient conditions If you need to increase boost above the pressure at which fuel cut occurs, you are better of getting a programmable ECU than putting too many gizmos on your car.

Without a fuel cut defender you can only raise boost a small amount and frankly isnt worth the cost of the elec boost controller.

Of course, fitting a defender allows you to raise boost further, but general opinion is that this is dodgy without altering fuelling.

and yes, by the time youve added boost and fuel controllers you may as well have bought a new ecu.
