Well, another little problem with my UK MY99 Impreza Turbo.

Since I got it I have noticed that there is a funny noise that comes from my pedal area when I dip the clutch at high revs. Hard to describe the noise effectively but the best I can describe it as is like a low pressure dump valve noise. I dont think its pnueatic though, but it does not sound fatal although it does not sound as if it is meant to be there either. The gears are spot on and there is no noise at low revs when the clutch is depressed.

I spoke to the Subaru garage and the top mecahnic bloke said that it is normal as Subarus have finger clutches (??!) I know of a guy with a 2000 Forester Turbo and he had a similar issue.

Is this common or should I be worried and looking at a big bill? What could be wrong if anything and what would it need to sort it both in parts and £'s???!!

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Al

Hi, As you discribed the noise, this is quite normal. All the Impreza's I have driven have made this type of noise. do'es it sound more pronounce when you are accelarating hard, mine do'es. I personally would ignore it unless it gets any worse.Oh and mines a MY00

See ya Paul.
