Question

Hi - has anybody had a 'quick shift' mod on an older scooby such as mine a 95'wrx wagon.

Was it any good - how much should I be paying and which one do you recommend (I'm a bit confused which parts I should really go for) and how long would it take a garage to fit?

thanks for the advice in advance!

cheers

First thing I had done on my MY95 UK. I was very unsure about buying the car with the gearbox as standard it is just so vague!! I tried another car they had in for servicing and the difference was incredible.

I paid about 300 GBP fitted from the dealer. IMHO this is one of the must have mods along with a SS back box and new filter!!

Cool

Quickshift makes a big difference to the earlier cars, and is generally considered a good value for money upgrade.

It's still worthwhile on the later cars as well, but makes less of a difference. Still nice to have if you have the money to spare though

Wink

I was going to put one on my my95 UK car but was put off by the bit in the SIDC faq about "beating the box". I took the cheapskate route and fitted a standard one from a my99 which was given to me free by Simpsons of Swindon when my Uncle got his scoob (Prodrive fitted the quickshift by mistake!). It made a huge difference, much better, but obviously not as good as a quickshift. It was a real ******* of a job fitting it though!

Been there, done that, didn't like the design on the T-Shirt!

WRX 96 Wagon. Paid about £200 all in including fitting for an autosportif unit, so I think £300 is steep (could that have been sold to a possible P1 owner? ).

Well worth 200 notes, makes a good improvement. Didn't have much problem with beating the gearbox, you just have to remember to respect the synchromesh system!

Got one in my UK 96.

Brilliant!! It even seems to make it less crunchy into reverse.

Cheers
