Question

All,

Does anybody have experience of the Magnex backboxes ?

Either the 3.5" round or the 4" oval ?

I'm looking for a backbox and a collegue of mine recommended the Magnex ?

How does it compare to the SS backbox ?

noise ? performance ?

Thanks in advance

MIP,I have the Magnex oval on my MY99 and it sounds like a WRC car, especially with SS downpipe and Magnex mid section. The only problems i have heard of is that on a pre MY99 year car ,if you fit the round section b/box the car will whistle!!!
Any other queries e mail me direct.
Regards,Bill.

I have the Magnex oval rearbox. IMHO it looks good as it fills the space for the exhaust better than round.
It is definitely loud though......
If you want to be noticed........

MIP, Magnex sounds great. "Meaty" is the word . The ScoobySport pipe looks less "in your face" than the Magnex oval, but it's all a question of taste.

I would strongly recommend that you evaluate the Magnex and ScoobySport boxes (and any other alternatives) side by side and decide which you like. Mostly, of course, listen to them on members' cars - both outside and from inside - before choosing. There should be a good range at any get-together.

I have just fitted the Magnex 6" x 4" Oval and have found it excellent. Noise in my MY99 estate has increased, but who cares!!!.

The car has now stopped pinking below 2000 rpm, (Anybody any reasons why (Super Plus run)

The cost is alot less than Scoobysports (I paid £208 inc VAT) and fitting is really easy.

Go get one, you wont be disappointed

I have a 6" X 4" oval on an STi3 5 door.

Loud as hell inside when you first drive it, but judicious use of the right foot and lowering of rear windows soon compensates! Motorway journeys can get a bit tiresome but that's what the stereo is for...

WRC soundtrack for a couple of hundred quid.. can't be bad!
